Montgomery Bell State Park
Located in Burns, TN, this park is 3,850 acres and offers three beautiful lakes with over 19 miles of hiking trails. The park also boasts a fully remodeled 117-room Lodge that sits on the banks of Lake Acorn, with a full-service restaurant and bar, and 6,000 square feet of event space. There are eight cabins and 94 campsites for visitors to enjoy as well. Our family has really enjoyed the hiking available here, as well as the beautiful lake views!

Bowie Nature Park
Located in Fairview, TN, this park offers 700 acres of forest, lakes, and 17 miles of trails. It’s a great place for bicycling, horseback riding, walking, and fishing. It also has an incredible Treehouse Playground for the kiddos, and a modern Nature Center, Outdoor Classroom and picnic areas! When we first stumbled across this park, my son could not contain his happiness at the sight of the enormous playground. This park is such a joy to have nearby and is so well maintained. We love visiting for play dates and picnics!

Harpeth River State Park
This is a linear park that manages nine river access sites along 40 river miles. Sites include several natural, archeological and historic areas. The park is a water recreation dream – great for kayaking, canoeing, fishing and hiking. The Harpeth River is a Class I river and a great option for beginners and advanced paddlers. Rentals and trip information are available from local outfitters in and around Kingston Springs, TN.
